Wedding day details are a major piece of your wedding day -- and wedding gallery!
I always start every wedding day by photographing a flatlay of your details. This allows me to come in early and give a little extra attention to your special details that tend to get forgotten in the hustle and bustle of the day!
Because I start off with the flatlay set up, it's super important to have all your details together in one place so I can grab them to get started when I arrive.
In preparation for the big day, I always include on the day of timeline a list of items I recommend my brides to include in their detail box.
Here is a list of 10 things I think are essentials to have in your bridal suite to ensure no detail is missed and will help your photographer capture your day!
#1 Your Wedding Dress
This may seem like a given, but it's important to have your dress and any other accessories like a belt or shawls in the space you are getting ready!
Once you are ready to get dressed, we'll want to have all the dress shots taken care of!
#2 A Hanger
This is one item I've noticed more than anything that gets forgotten!
Your beautiful dress deserves to be photographed on a gorgeous hanger instead of a plastic one that can be a major eye sore.
A neutral hanger is a great way to go, or you can order a personalized one!
#3 Your Veil
Not only should your veil be with your dress..but i LOVE to use them as part of your flat lay. They soften up the flatlay and add a touch of romance!
#4 Your Shoes
Just like the veil, apart from shots of you putting your shoes on...I love to add your shoes into my flatlay.
#5 All Accessories
This ranges from all of your jewelry (including all bride and groom rings), perfume, ring boxes, vow books, and anything sentimental you want me to include in the flatlay!
#6 Your Entire Invitation Suite
Give me all the pretty paper!
Invitation, Details Card, RSVP Card, Save The Date, Wedding Program, Menu
+ ALL envelopes and any wax seals/stamps.
#7 Florals!!!
If i could overly emphasize one thing on this list, it would be florals!
I always ask my brides to ask their florist to have me some extra florals ready to be used for flay lays. This is SO important as your florals are a huge part of your day! Plus, adding them in your detail shots help the album flow and tie everything together.
#8 Your Grooms Details
I photograph all details at once, so it's important to have all of the groom details in the same place as the bridal details!
Groom details usually include: shoes, watch, cufflinks, cologne, bow ties/ties, etc!
#9 Champagne
What better way to start they day than popping champagne with your girls! These always make for the best pictures!
#10 Time
Schedule yourself the luxury of extra time during the getting ready portion of the day. This is the part of the day that really sets the tone for the rest of the day. Extra time allows you to relax and savor this time with some of the most important people in
\ your life- instead of stressing about being short on time!
Chat with you Hair and make up to figure out what time they will be finished.
When it comes to details, more is better in most cases!
This list may seem like alot, but it will make the most difference in the final gallery and ensure your day goes smoothly!
